 Combining romantic and feminine elements while making a modern and bold statement, this line is the sole creation of local designer Meryl Adis. The entrepreneur, who has been creating her entire life, had previous success creating and selling "telephone wire" jewelry at a very early age. She then went on to develop "Kids Clothes To You," a business that allowed new moms to purchase designer children's clothing in the comforts of their own homes. While continuing to create one-of-a-kind jewelry, Adis wanted to design a line that was both fashionable and classic. Thus, the MADIS line was born.
Comprised of handcrafted sterling silver, Swarovski crystal, and semi-precious stones, the collection includes necklaces, chokers, bracelets, and earrings. Pieces are appropriate for both day and evening wear. While MADIS continues to evolve as a collection on a seasonal basis, the signature twin suspended charms on a toggle closure worn at the front of the neck, remains the same.
The collection now includes many pieces that offer a sterling silver "chain" and semi-precious combinations, such as Smoky Quartz and Onyx. The designer finds inspiration in medallions, amulets, and symbols of royalty and introduced these elements into the jewelry line in Fall 2006. In addition, the "Barbara" collection was launched after a close friend was diagnosed with breast cancer. Since then, a charitable partnership has been formed between MADIS and breastcancer.org, with a portion of all sales of the "Barbara" line being donated to the organization.
The entire collection includes over 50 styles with approximately 20 different crystal/pearl or semi-precious stone combinations, allowing for much creativity on the part of the wearer. Loved by anyone drawn to sparkle, it is a favorite of either the conservative or those with a more daring sense of style.
