Fruits of Summer: Nineteenth Century American Still Life. In keeping with the Museum's long-standing interest in American still-life painting, this exhibition explores the theme of the fruit still life through the lens of summer. Over fifty works featuring watermelon, peaches, strawberries and other fruits associated with the season will be presented with an eye toward tracing the history of this theme in the nineteenth century.
